OPEN - Senior Transportation PlannerPosition: Sr. Transportation and Community Planner with 5+ years of experience

Nspiregreen is looking for you! We are seeking a new member of our team. The Sr. Transportation and Community Planner will work across multiple projects leading and supporting multimodal transportation and community planning projects.

Transportation and Community Planning: Planning tasks such as data collection and analysis, crash/safety analysis, corridor planning, bicycle/pedestrian planning, maps and data presentation, and land use analysis. Analyzing transportation data including technical, social, economic, and physical data. Preparing conceptual designs and technical solutions to improve mobility and safety in accordance with National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) as well as state and local design guides. Preparing technical reports, and presenting information to government entities, project stakeholders, and the public. Working collaboratively with the Community Outreach Specialist to ensure the engagement process informs the technical planning process and is fun and interactive.
Strong Project Management: Overseeing all aspect of project management including client contact, cost estimating and budget control, invoicing, project staffing, and quality control. Leading peers, junior staff, and sub-consultants. Ensuring Nspiregreen’s expectations for delivering quality in all assigned projects and deliverables.
Business Development: Participating in networking events related to Nspiregreen’s business practices. Leading and participating in project proposals and business development initiatives. Actively pursuing business opportunities. Developing and maintaining client relationships.
This position will require attendance at weekday, evening, and weekend meetings. In addition, the candidate must be able to perform well in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate possesses the following: Bachelor’s degree, plus 8+ years of experience in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field. Strong understanding of transportation methods, traffic engineering, and planning principles to produce transportation projects and plans. Understanding of functional classification, multimodal planning, GIS analysis, alternatives evaluation, and environmental impacts. Strong written and oral communications skills. Belief in the importance of public and stakeholder involvement. Possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a project and lead a team with minimal oversight. Proven public involvement, networking, and business development skills. Desire to learn and grow as a professional. Travel may be required.
Master’s Degree in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field. AICP and/or PE.

If you said yes, Nspiregreen is looking for you. We are seeking a new member of our team. The role of the Planner I, will work across multiple projects supporting both planning and public engagement activities.
Planning duties may include field data collection, data analysis, developing alternatives, GIS mapping, transforming data into visual presentations, writing technical reports, and participating in planning workshops with clients.
Public engagement duties may include assisting with public outreach strategies and techniques, planning and staffing community meetings and special events, creating public information/outreach materials/community messaging, assisting with graphics and document design, and managing social media.
This position will require attendance at weekday, evening and weekend meetings. Additionally, the finalist must be able to perform well in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
Bachelors degree, MS preferred. 0+ years experience in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field. Strong written and oral communications skills are required. The ability to multi-task and work as part of a team is also required. Regional travel may be required.
